October Mid-month challenge, SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD

The lovely Heather McMahon has challenged me to play along with her amazingly, gorgeous moodboard over at SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD! I was already inspired by the gorgeous colours, and couldn't go past this one! Take a look at the board:

I had a layout in mind, using a Selfie I took recently, and something that has been going on in my head for quite some time. Thinking about taking a huge Leap of Faith. this is a message to myself, and I wanted it to be a big, bright reminder every day!!! Here's my layout:

I was initially inspired by the water colour image, top left, which gave me the idea for a shaving foam and  Dylusions  background!...That was alot of fun! I then added a bit of Distress ink by wiping the ink pad directly over the coloured background. I used a Kaszazz stencil and some Dylusions paints for the gorgeous circles, which were inspired by the bottom, middle image, and tried to mimic alot of the colours from the mood board. The gorgeous flowers are from Scrap Matrix, Prima, Kaszazz and an Op shop find, I recoloured the pink ones with Dylusions sprays. There's some 7 dots papers, H. .Swapp papers, Paint chips & Kaiser papers. I love the Collected & Co. alphas! Lots of Kaszazz stamps on there and enamel dots are by Francheville. I've fussy cut some little hearts as I loved the hanging mobile in the bottom right image. So as you can see, the whole Moodboard pretty much inspired me!!! Well done Heather!

Here's a few images showing the shaving foam background up close.

Kraft Plus October Challenge

Inspired by nature is the theme of this month's KRAFT PLUS CHALLENGE. I love the way these Kraft Plus challenges actually challenge me. Sometimes even the smallest criteria makes me think hard for a long time, it's great thinking outside the box! So here's their lovely little theme board...

And here's my take on the challenge!!!

As you can see, my little piece of nature shows in the close up. A small group of sticks I picked up from my garden. I wrapped a few colours of twine (from KASZAZZ), around them to make them stand out. My feathers are in the way of stamped Dream Catcher & small feathers which I embossed and then coloured with Distress Ink Markers. I cut a few of the feathers out and hung on the leaf and flair embelllishments too.

I have had these Kaisercraft papers & wooden leaves in my stash for quite a long time now, and so happy I had the perfect opportunity to use them with this gorgeous photo of our little niece. She is almost 18 months old now and we still haven't met her. Sometimes distance sucks!!! I also used some Project Life cards, a stencil and ink for the background, and finished with these cute little stars, I mysteriously found all over my lounge room floor last night!!! (The gremlins have been playing in my stash again!!!)TFL!

CSI Case file No: 177

I was so excited to be Featured on the CSI Facebook Page and website as one of the Most Wanted for Case File NO> 173. Such a lovley compliment. Today I am sharing my layout for Case file no.177!
here is the Case File & criteria!!

Here is my layout, titled"LUCKY US"!

In 2012, our family spent 4 months travelling the Northern Territory and South Australia. We camped at the Flinders Ranges for about 4 days, and the wildlife we saw was amazing, One of the highlights was seeing this EMU and it's chicks walking along the road. We stopped to take it all in, it was truly an amazing moment!
I've used some October Afternoon & Amy Tangerine papers, kaszazz cardstock, Merci embellishments, flowers & eyelets I've had in my stash for a long time!!! ( I love using up old stash among with some new items, such as the Kaisercraft alphas!) There's some stencil work with inks and Distress paints. The crafter's Workshop & Kaszazz stencils!) TFL!
