Kraft Plus August Challenge

Hi all, well, where did the month of July go, do you know??? Far out, the year is flying by!
Today I'm sharing my Design Team layout for Kraft Plus! The challenge this month is to either scrap about a particular tree/trees or use leaves and branches and trees for inspiration. Let me just say this one had me stumped!!! Ha ha, did you like my pun?? Here is the inspiration board anyway>>>

Image may contain: text

Here's my layout!

I've used up some Kaisercraft papers and Captured moments cards, (Paradiso and Getaway!) It feels good to use stash that I've had for awhile!

On my background, I started with some shimmery, Starburst Color Shots, from Lindy's Stamp Gang. These are just gorgeous!!! I also flicked some Dylusions inks on there! The leaves stamp was perfect, this one came in a set attatched to one of the magazines.

The bird and words are from the Paradiso sticker sheet!

I tucked my journaling behind the photo. The palm trees are from Rex Smeal Park in Port Douglas, my home for 18 years. So many times we sat there, watching the world go by and the tourist boats come in. I took my client's there for Wedding and Portrait photo shoots, and we got married just nearby.

The chipboard flags are from my Design Team kit from Memory Maze and I've coloured them with Distress Stain, which works beautifully, for some subtle colour.

I hope you like my layout, this is another story I'm glad I have doucmented!

Me Time!!!

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to find a few hours in my day to create, just for me!! Doesn't happen very often at the moment. I am lucky enough to have access to some awesome online classes over at Aall and Create. I took a card class with Manuela and converted it to an Art Journal page. Man I am in love with this one!! I used a mix of stamps from  KASZAZZ. Kaisercraft, Dina Wakley and PRIMA FINNABAIR and the watercolour background was made using Brusho powder watercolour paint and Lindy's Starburst colourshot, which is also a powder which reacts awesomely when you spray it with water!!!

Love the Mandala stamps from Kaszazz and I've been wanting to use them as a border, just an idea I had for awhile, so they worked perfect for this. The Day Dreaming and Angel wings stamps are two of my fave's from Kaszazz!!!

The sketched face stamp is from a Dina Wakley set, and I've coloured it using our Kaszazz, Alcohol Ink Art Markers. Hope you like this page!!

Latest Design Team News and project!!!

Hi everyone. My latest exciting news was that I have joined the Design Team over at Memory Maze!! I  was thrilled to be asked to join the team and also a little excited at the challenge of moving slightly out of my comfort zone, as I have never really used a lot of chipboard on my layouts.

I received an awesome pack of goodies from Sally, to start me off on my journey. Funny story. I thought I would make a tag, to ease myself into it...Well, after spilling a bottle of Distress Paint, (had to be black), all over my table, and the floor, and my dress...the tag just happened to get in the firing line also, and now looks nothing like I intended it to look!! Stay tuned, I will recreate that baby another day!!!

So instead, I went off on a total different tangent and created a lovely watercolour background with some Art Spectrum watercolour paints. (These are to die for. They are a little expensive, but a little goes a long way!!) I also used Dylusions spray inks on there and watered them down.

My background stamping was alot of fun!! I got me some new Paperartsy stamps, (Tracy Scott designs), from my friend Vicki at Scrap Matrix!!! The rectangles and bubbles stamps are from these packs. You can see the stencilled reverse bricks and the gorgeous chipboard wire butterflies in there, from Memory Maze, along with the chippy title. I coloured all my chipboard with some Smooch accent ink I have had in my stash for so long. They were previously available from Kaszazz, but have long been out of range, it's time for me to use them!!! They are perfect for the chipboard pieces!!!

Other products used were: HEIDI SWAPP STAMPS, KELLY PURKEY STAMPS, GLITZ DESIGNS, LARGE CRYSTALS and AMY TAN & KAISERCRAFT papers.

Thanks for dropping by!!!

Kraft Plus, Plus one colour challenge

Hi all, can you believe it's the first of June? Half way through the year..too scary! Today I am up on the Kraft Plus blog with my Design Team sample of our June challenge. It's Kraft, Plus one colour. check out the inspiring challenge board:

Now I was down to the wire with timing this month...again, just have had a very busy time lately!!! My friend and I hosted our very own, very first scrapbooking retreat here in Darwin over the weekend, it went awesome by the way, but wow, alot of work involved and it's taking me awhile to not feel tired!!!
So this layout was pulled together very quickly, just by opening a few of my embellishment drawers, paper scrap drawer and I have a little folder with odd journal spots, which also came in handy.

The first thing I did was stencil the words on my background, using the Kaszazz, Destiny stencil and some Distress Oxide inks. So smooth on the Kraft background!!! Then I added some texture paste through a Kaszazz stencil. For some colour drops, I added some Gelatos with water and let it run, but then covered most of it up with the photo. One of my favourite things about this layout, is that I used up a few little things I have had sitting in my stash forever!! Can you see part of the little, blue, cocktail umbrella sticking out under the word Magic, above!!!??? I also used a piece of it under the bottom of the pic.

The butterflies are from an ephemera pack from Grace Taylor, (Grant Archival), I've had them for sooo long!!! I added some art marker to change the colour in the middle from yellow to blue! There's some sequins, some washi tape from D-Lish scraps, and some flicks of the stem of the Dylusions bottle.

There's a little banner from a Kaisercraft collectables pack and a doily and a little journal spot from Autumn Leaves, which I had stamped and put in my little folder for a rainy day. It's actually kind of refreshing and quick working with just one colour. You are able to add black/white and neutrals to your project to help it come together. I hope you can find time to visit the k+ blog and check out the challenge samples from the other DT members.

Kraft Plus April challenge

Hi all!!! Another new month is upon us, and another great challenge from Kraft Plus this month!! Seriously, Sandra and Amanda are rocking these challenges and graphics for the modboards, I hope you can play along!!! So this month, it was your challenge to use paint chips on a layout!! I have been collectiong these babies for awhile now and have bags of them!!! Here's my layout for the Design Team sample!!

I had so many ideas in my head and I knew it would involve using my Kaszazz punches for some type of shapes. Then I came up with the idea of a banner, and incorporated my cute, banner stamps from Kaszazz.

I used some Kaisercraft papers, from the 6.5", Happy Snaps pad, some ephemera from the same range and some journal cards from the Say Cheese pack.

You can see I've punched and cut half circles for my banner and along the bottom of my photo!

The pretty enamel dots are from D-Lish Scraps !! From my remaining paint chips, I cut some little banners to help embellish!!!

Hope you've been inspired to have a go at our challenge this month!!!

Kraft Plus Design Team post- March Challenge

Hi all!!!. It's the first of the month, new challenges are happening all around the Scrappy Community!! I have my DT take on this month's Kraft + challenge, which is awesome by the way. You must use Denim on your project somewhere and if you like, be inspired by this awesome moodboard!

Image may contain: shoes

I struggled for a bit to find some denim that wasn't being worn!! Then I came across a cute little denim, Barbie doll skirt, which my daughter had once loved. I couldn't make it work on my page as it was, so I decided to die cut some little love hearts out of it, (using my Kaszazz, Ezy Press!), and add to my page! It even has some sparkles in it!

I went for a very purple, mixed media background!! I used Distress paints, Distress inks, stencils by Prima and Kaisercraft, & some texture paste. There's a few Kaszazz stamps I repeated, for another layer, then came the addition of some cute cut files from Silhouette and Cocoa Vanilla Studio!!! (Love cut files and really should use that Cameo machine alot more!!!)

The very cute heart embellishment is from Charm's Creations, and the 2nd flower cluster, I made using Kaszazz flowers, (re-coloured with Dylusions sprays), and a little resin flower, I think I picked up from Spotlight for very cheap!!!

Cardstock is Kaszazz and patterned papers were from Kaszazz, Amy Tangerine & Chickaniddy-365. Oh and the felt doilies were a $2 shop find!!! (Don't you love a good find? Speaking of which...the sequins were also found in an OP SHOP, in a huge bag with beads and some other fun bits!!!)

So here's the finished page, which also has a couple of Heidi Swapp word stickers & date stamp!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Sister tags and Birds!!!

So, at the moment, I am into birds!!! Do you have phases, where you want to use something on a project and then all of a sudden, finding yourself using the same thing on several projects and looking on Pinterest for more inspiration!! I do it alot.

For my tutorial this month over at Off the Rails,  I decided to do a tag!  Then I thought, I could kill two birds with one stone, (so to speak!!), and make my tag for the Scrappingclearly tag swap at the same time. Therefore, for both tags, I have used the colours of our tag swap moodboard at Scrappingclearly, which is here:

So this is where the bird phase took shape.
I started with a couple of mixed media backgrounds, using Distress Ink and Micro Glaze for a resist technique! (You can see a step by step tutorial on the blog at Off the Rails!) ( I used stencils & Distress Ink, then rubbed the Micro Glaze over the top of the stencilled image which causes a resist of further wet mediums.)

I added some stamping, blended the edges and decorated with washi tape, twine, stamped images, (all from Kaszazz), and some flowers from Prima, Scrap Matrix, Merci and Kaisercraft.
I watercoloured the Bird images with Kaszazz, watercolour pencils.

Hope you like my tags! I have to give one away, but at least I get to keep the other one!!!
TFL.

Halloween Moodboard at Off the Rails

Hi all, just sharing my Design Team project for Off the Rails this month! I was a little bit thrown when I saw the moodboard! Halloween! We don't celebrate it much here in Australia, well at least I didn't as a kid. My kids have done a bit of Trick or Treating in our small neighbourhoods, so I remembered, I do actually have a few photos to use! Here is the inspiration board!

So once I found the pics, I then decided to go with a boy layout. I had the perfect Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers I had just purchased, and some of the die cut stickers to go with it, from the MADE OF AWESOME range! I added a little stencil work with some acrylic paint and Distress Inks before I layered some Kaisercraft papers & some cute tissue paper from D-Lish Scraps!

I found these cool little spooky overlays, which came in a pocket letter, and they were the perfect Halloween addition that helped the page all fall into place!

My little piece of Heidi Swapp on this page, is a banner! There's some washi tape here and there, some Ranger, enamel accents, and my very first purchase from Charm's Creations, the gorgeous fabric heart and button!

I added my journaling with computer font and had some Basic Grey alpha stickers in my stash, which I've been wanting to use up. I mixed them with some tiny alphas from Kaszazz!

Hope you like my page!

Scrap the Girls October Moodboard

Hi all, just sharing my Scrap the Girls Design Team take on the moodboard this month!!! Wow, October already!!! This one was quite a tricky moodboard!

I love the colours, but struggled to find too many things in my stash which were the right fit. I did find my background page pretty quickly, my last piece from a Blue Fern Studios kit, so gorgeous!
I used a little Distress Ink and water on the background, with a flick of Heidi Swapp Colorshine. Then just layered some papers, from Kaisercraft and a few Project Life cards which had the smidge of grey and purple on them.

I had this gorgeous pack of die cuts in my drawer, which were a generic brand purchased from a $2
shop, They were the perfect colours and so I just went all out with them over my page. Perfect, love the little deer. (He got a little purple splatter on him when I inked the background, but hey, it's all relative!) I love the little flower cluster too!

Can't believe this was 12 years ago, when my baby girl was just 1. How time does fly!!!
TFL!!!!
