My DT take on the Scrappingclearly October sketch

Hi again, I can't believe that it's October, just so scary how fast these months are flying by. Oh well, at least there are always lots of scrappy challenges to keep my crafty mojo happy. I love being part of a Design Team, and at Scrappingclearly, we now have a sketch and a moodboard each month, which really does help inspire me for my DT samples.
So here is the sketch this month:

And here is my layout! I was even inspired by the colours in the sketch this month!

The background paper was already awesomly coloured, but to add a little more, I blended some Distress inks, made some Distress Stain spots and did a little stamping with stamps from Kaszazz, Heidi Swapp and Urban Crafter.
I've used papers & ephemera by Pink Paislee, Washi stickers from Heidi Swapp and Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper, & a fabulous chipboard piece from 2 Crafty! (Just love these large acetate numbers from the Pink Paislee, Cest La Vie range!)

My title alphas are from American Crafts and Amy Tangerine, (have been waiting for the right project to use these on!!!) The sparkly pink hashtag is from a pack of Heidi Swapp alphas from Scrappingclearly, and the cute little bow is from Crate Paper and Maggie Holmes.

I'm glad I've got this photo scrapped, another piece of my daughter's life, she loved her dancing when she was little, I so wish she would get back into it now!

Scrappingclearly September sketch

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I love being a Design Team member, it opens up so many possibilities and sometimes challenges me to move a little outside my comfort zone and try new things. Well this month's sketch at Scrappingclearly, is designed by me. The first one I have ever done, and I have to say it's a little addictive!! I have lots of experience with layers in Photoshop and thought I would use that. As it turns out, I am exploring the mountains of possibilities within Microsoft Word, and that's where I created this sketch!

Here is my take on the sketch, using the gorgeous Starshine range, by Shimelle and American Crafts.

I love working with a sketch, it makes life so much easier when scrapping. I've cut alot of my embellishments from the patterned papers, there's a few little wood veneers from Studio Calico on there & some Heidi Swapp and Carolees Creations alphas.

Can you notice the shiny Colour Blast Colour Paste stars on there?? I made my own stencil for those, see below!!

Thanks for looking!!!
Have a great day!!!

Kraft Plus IT'S A PUZZLE challenge

So I'm just scraping this one in for the deadline for the Kraft Plus June challenge. This month, the requirement was to use jigsaw puzzle pieces on your project. As per the insp board here:

I have had these puzzle pieces in my stash for quite some time, they were from American Crafts and there were bright coloured spotty pieces in the pack. I painted them with a layer of Gesso and then some Dylusions paint, then covered them in Glossy Accents. My background is layered with stamping, texture paste and Colourblast, Colour paste, in blue....love the shine on this, the photo probs. doesn't do it justice but I will be taking a better pic tomorrow, in day light.
My papers are from Heidi Swapp and I used some scraps from a FREE Scrapbooking Memories Paper. There's some Colour shine on there and my Chipboard title is from 2 Crafty. I painted this with the same blue Colour Paste and it came up beautifully! Oh and there's a cute little Flutterby Designs Flair on there!!! TFL!!

Scrappingclearly DT post with a Project Life spread

Hi all, hope you are having a lovely weekend and getting some scrappy fun time in!! Today I am up on the Scrappingclearly Blog with a Project Life spread using the gorgeous Dear Lizzy HAPPY PLACE collection from American Crafts!!!

I don't do alot of PL pages, but these pretty papers with their 6x4" and 3x4" cards really inspired me to do so. Also helps to come across the photos to go with it, and make it all fall into place. There's also some Maggie Holmes Bloom embellishments on there and Heidi Swapp alphas and die cut word for my title! I love the cute little stamp set from the Happy Place range, which is how I made the sunglasses and camera embellies, I just added a touch of Distress Ink with a water brush on them to mimi the hand-cut butterflies from the Maggie Holmes paper.

I made a little transparent pocket with the Dear Lizzy specialty paper and some Studio Calico sequins. I haven't bought myself a fuse tool yet, although I have wanted one for some time, so I closed the pocket together at the top with a little glossy accents which you can't see, that worked a treat.

If you want to find out more of the details, head on over to the Scrappingclearly Blog, where you can also find a link to the shop and links in my post to all the yummy products I have used!

More Than Words mini challenge

So today I am fading very fast with the dreaded flu, which was kindly passed onto me by my dear little 10 yr old boy!!! he's been sick for over a week! I still managed to get a little crafty challenge in at my desk, and that's what I love about the More Than Words Mini Challenges. (Click the link to take you to their Facebook page where the mini challenges are held!) if you would like to take a look at the Monthly Challenge and all the gorgeous inspiration, click here!
So the criteria for the mini challenge was to use the word FLY on a card/tag or ATC. I love tags, so that's what I made:

I've used a Kaisercraft script embossing folder, Distress Inks, Gesso to fade out the middle background, and coloured the Kaszazz bird stamps with Gelatos. The flowers are from Kaisercraft and Glitz Design, the lace is also from Glitz. There's a couple of little die cuts for the branches, (Kaszazz).

How cue are the little eggs!!! Finally I get to use up a few of those random pearls in my stash! The nest was made from some household twine. I separated it all and then bunched it up. My sentiment is a Dylusions stamp and the FLY stickers are from American Crafts. I am quite happy with the end result!!! TFL, Tania

CSI Case file No: 177

I was so excited to be Featured on the CSI Facebook Page and website as one of the Most Wanted for Case File NO> 173. Such a lovley compliment. Today I am sharing my layout for Case file no.177!
here is the Case File & criteria!!

Here is my layout, titled"LUCKY US"!

In 2012, our family spent 4 months travelling the Northern Territory and South Australia. We camped at the Flinders Ranges for about 4 days, and the wildlife we saw was amazing, One of the highlights was seeing this EMU and it's chicks walking along the road. We stopped to take it all in, it was truly an amazing moment!
I've used some October Afternoon & Amy Tangerine papers, kaszazz cardstock, Merci embellishments, flowers & eyelets I've had in my stash for a long time!!! ( I love using up old stash among with some new items, such as the Kaisercraft alphas!) There's some stencil work with inks and Distress paints. The crafter's Workshop & Kaszazz stencils!) TFL!

Kraft Plus September Challenge

I've just completed another layout for this month's Kraft Plus Challenge. It was all about triangles, and a fabulous sketch. And of course, the Kraft background! I had fun as usual playing along!
Here is the sketch!!

And here is my take. I've used a new American Crafts, Happy Traveler 6x6 paper pad, some Heidi Swapp die cuts & stickers, some Teresa Collins brads and bits, and some Kaszazz, Kaisercraft,  and Heidi Swapp stamps. Other stamps were from Papercraft & Collected & Co. There is also some washi tape, TCW stencil and paints, Smooch Spritz and a Heidi Swapp stencil. The Adventure die cut was from the Silhouette store, (I think, I hope!) Cheers.

Kraft Plus July challenge

This month, I have just made it again to play along with the Kraft Plus challenge. I have been pre-occupied with my SBM Masters entry, so it was nice to do a quick page without the pressure.
Here is the mood board, the theme was Mustard and Explosion and paint!!

I had fun with this one, didn't get too serious, just needed a bit of colour therapy, so the yellow was perfect!
Here is my layout:

I used some gesso first, then added some Kaiser paint and water. I dabbed some distress paint splats on there and used a little texture paste with a negative of a flower centre die cut. I was inspired by the  white love heart in the photo, and made a texture paste heart to sit behind the photo. (I used a stamp for this). There's loads of background stamping, stencilling and a few Amy Tangerine papers, My Mind's eye stickers, sequins, and a Merci flair. I used my Brother label maker for a few lines of journalling. The feather border is a Glitz design roller stamp. TFL!

here's the November moodboard!!! (I love that they also give you a sketch, which makes it super easy to play along in a short time frame!!!)

And here's my layout: 'Story' is about my two little darlings who are growing up so fast! This photo was taken in 2008, just after i had my first solo holiday away from them. I had missed them so much, and i got home and they were so sun tanned. They had been in the pool every day with their Dad! This is one of my favourite pics!

.

I love all the gold in this one,
I went a bit mad, using loads of Heidi Swapp project life embellishments, aswell as her papers and fab plastic words which I attatched to some white cardstock and fussy cut to make them stand out as my title on my page.
This pic shows up close, the Perfect Pearls I used with Perfect medium and a Kaszazz stencil. There's also a little Ranger Ice Stickles on there, some American Crafts-Dear Lizzy papers, washi tape and some cute banner stickers from Echo Park. The gold cardstock is from Kaszazz.TFL!!!
