Old is new, using my stash!

Happy Easter everyone! I have already started on the chocolate and eaten probably my fair share, before the Easter bunny has been. Lucky it's all about the kids tomorrow.
I've managed a little bit of crafting over the last few days, and had a few occasions to make cards for. I pulled out my old cards the other day- I mean the cards I made when I was really just starting out making cards. I have pulled a few apart and a few had actually fallen apart, so just backing them on a fresh card and adding some bits, in this case, washi tape, I had a quick card for a going away show tonight.
Then I had a rustle through all my Kaszazz papers and paper off cuts, and found some Ebony and Ivory off cuts. I teamed them with the new metal flower embellishments from kaszazz, and embossed a dot background and came up with this:
There is a sentiment on there, which is actually embossed in gold, but it didn't show up too well on the brown cardstock, so am going to decide what I can do with that later.
I also made up a new Demonstration card from Kaszazz, using the new Carpe Diem range of stamps, the metal clock and hands embellishments and Distress inks. I love this card:
I have really been itching lately to just scrap and scrap quickly and get through some pics, so with a few FREE papers from a magazine, and some tabs and buttons, I came up with this:
I had the EZY Press machine out already, so die cut some lovely little scalloped journal blocks which I cut in half and added to the top and bottom of the layout. I also die cut my title with the Ezy Press which is so awesome, because I couldn't find any green alphas to match. This way i was able to cut them out of the same cardstock I used for my base, and it all tied in perfectly! There's a bit of washi tape thrown in for good measure. This is my gorgeous little girl, when she was about 5. Her hair was so curly when she was little, but as it got longer all the curls started to drop out. I'm glad I've got pics to remember what it was like!

I'M A FAN OF HEIDI SWAPP FILE FOLDERS

I bought a stack of Heidi's file folders as soon as i could get my hands on them and just love their versatility and designs. I needed to make a rather condensed version of My Mum's life in an album for her 70th birthday. I live in another state, so didn't have access to alot of photos. The Vintage Chic design I chose seemed to guide me through the process, without having to worry about finding papers to match. I did minimal embellishing as you don't want anything to bulky in the middle. I joined the folders together with some ribbon through punched holes at the side.

The section in the middle on the right, opens up at the journal spot to reveal some wonderful family memories below.
I have used some Collections butterflies and papers throughout, a little stamping and some typed strip journalling. I've also made a few little pockets with journal cards for Mum to add her thoughts and memories. This is the back, below. I haven't shown all the pages, but you can get the general idea.
