Kraft Plus March challenge - Houndstooth

Sooo many cool challenges all over scrappy blogland this month, I can hardly contain my excitement. Wish I had more hours in the day!!! I've managed a few so far this month though, and today I have completed the Houndstooth challenge for March over at Kraft Plus. There was also a sketch this month:

Loved this one!!! here is my take:

I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my little sister on her Wedding day for some time. Sadly, her and her Husband are no longer together, so it made it hard for me to do. This challenge was perfect, as it didn't have to be about the day, it was just about her and how absolutely beautiful she looked and how happy she was. I journaled my thoughts and hid them behind the photo!

I just love these watercolour title words by Heidi Swapp! I sprayed so many layers of coloured inks on there to get the right colour, then went over the top with a coat of gesso and voila- the colour I needed appeared!

Other products used were: Patterned paper by Kaszazz & Webster's Pages, (The Houndstooth paper is an oldie from Kaszazz and originally ivory, so I sprayed it with Dylusions!!)
Flowers- Bella, Prima & Scrap Matrix, Brads- Teresa Collins, Wooden leaves- Merci, Script stamp- Kaszazz, Silhouette cut file and Silhouette Cameo machine, Heidi Swapp Colorshine, Tattered Angels Glimmermist, and ribbon! TFL!

Paper Issues March card sketch challenge!

Thanks Corri Garza, for your card sketch again this month. When I'm feeling a bit slow with the mojo, I love having this little sketch to work with and produce something a tad less involved. I love playing along with Paper Issues, they have loads of challenges to choose from each month!!! You can find the latest one's here:
Here is the sketch, (which you can play along with in their Facebook Friends & fans Community page)

And here's my card, made using up some embossed card I had laying around and some butterflies in my Kikki K sticker book. I made the watercolour background with Distress Inks and water and swished the card through the colour on my craft mat. Finished off with a few glitter dots which I found in the $2 shop, yay!!!

CSI CASE FILE 194 SOLVED

I've managed another case file this month for CSI-Color stories inspiration. It's Case File No. 194. Here's the inspiration board and case file specifics:

I'm glad to see a few boy colours on the last few boards, as I really do tend to scrap more female than male layouts, which is a bit naughty of me. So time to catch up on a few of my son. I've used the sketch and turned it around and I was happy to fit 4 pics on there of Jack's mini Lego figurines all lined up ready for battle!!!

I did a stencilled, gesso background, bringing the diamond shapes on board. My paper choices were Echo Park, Kaisercraft & Kaszazz. I used alpha stamps by See D's, & Papercraft (for my title), and the cute little aeroplane stamp is from Amy Tangerine. I used a couple of things that have been in my stash for ages, great to use them up...(a cardstock arrow by Imaginarium Designs.) There's a Heidi Swapp, chipboard Ampersaand on there and a brand new D-Lish Scraps flair. There's some skinny washi tape on there from Scrap Matrix to house my date down the bottom!!! Another boy layout accomplished!

On the Scrappingclearly Blog today

Hi all, today was my turn for my first DT post on the Scrappingclearly Blog!
I received a very generous Teresa Collins kit from Kylie to work with this month. Here are some pics of my project, and if you visit the SC blog, you can click on the links to find all the yummy products I used in the store!!! I am loving the woodgrain, doesn't seem to go out of style!

These pics show the little tag i made for my hidden journaling. I often hide my journaling to keep the look of the layouts neat! But there will always be journaling on there somewhere!!!

CSI CASE FILE NO. 192

Hello, I've just snuck in with this layout in the nick of time for Case file no. 192 over at CSI-Color Stories Inspiration. I loved the colour palette with this one, it was actually quite a challenge in the end, but I got it done, Yay! Here's the Case File:

And here's my take on the challenge!

I'm actually quite happy with this one. Also, because it tells not such a happy story which I normally tell. Poor Taylah had a rough year in 2013 with her teeth, She had so many trips to the dentist and orthodontist, and had to have a few teeth pulled out. She is so petrified of the Dentist, it was a very harrowing year!!! In this story, she was in Hopsital, in Day Surgery, and had just had 2 teeth pulled, one was an adult tooth, which she wont get back, and she  was only 10 yrs old!

I popped my journaling on a tag behind the layers! you can also see as part of my TESTIMONY, that I put some of the journaling in the bird cage. I used all of the colours, and my EVIDENCE IS: newspaper/text print, (my newsprint stamped background and patterned paper!) I have birds, a bird cage, a heart, (2 Crafty Chipboard), I distressed the edges of my paper and tore them slightly. I also have a bow on my journal tag, which is twine from Kaszazz, and eyelets and brads which are all metal!!! (How glad am I to bust some of my very old stash using up some of those!!!)

Oh and there are also plenty of flowers on there, from Kaszazz, Prima & Scrap Matrix. My papers are from Kaszazz, Amy Tangerine and Rosie's Studio, cardstock, Kaszazz. There's washi tape, Gesso, Dylusions spray inks and Perfect Pearls, (Background), Grant Archival & Amy Tangerine Alphas, a Dear Lizzy Tag & some inks by Ranger and colorbox!!! TFL!
