Paper Issues December Sketch challenge

I just loved this simple sketch from the Paper Issues blog for December sketchy Saturday!!! Such a simple design, which is my kind of scarpping style! I love being able to scrap a layout in an afternoon, it doesn't happen very often..lol! But the gorgeous paper collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, also helped it all come together real quick! Here's the sketch:

And here is my layout!!! I'm on a roll with my Tasmania photos. It was a trip I took in 2008, nice to get them scrapped finally! I've used a few Kaszazz products, Heidi Swapp date stamp, Chickaniddy enamel shapes & a Flutterby Designs Flair.

Kraft plus December challenge

So I've just finished my layout for the December Challenge over at Kraft Plus.
Here is the inspiration criteria for this month: Travel and maps:

I was a little excited about this one as I have soooo many travel pics that need to be scrapped. this time I chose to make it about one of my solo trips to Tasmania in 2008. i had always wanted to go to the Australian Photographic Society Convention. My parents flew to Cairns to help hubby look after the kids and off i went for 8 days!! It was awesome, Tassie was cold, but it was a fantastic experience! TFL.

Paper Issues novemer card sketch

And...it may be a back to front post, I'm posting November's Card sketch after December's, but I had fun with this sketch all the same. Here's the Paper Issues' sketch by Corri Garza...

And here's my take on the sketch. I had some left overs for another challenge I'm working on, using a leaves embossing folder swiped with Distress inks, in different colours before running through my embossing machine. The paper flowers from Kaszazz, are coloured using Distress inks spritzed with water.Love the pineapple washi tape!! (Wish I could remember where I got it from!)

Jot Magazine November Mood Board Challenge

Hi there, I have just scraped in on the last day, and last few hours actually, to play along with the November Moodboard challenge over at Jot Magazine. I just couldn't go past this beautiful colour scheme, which was put together by the lovely Kim Jeffress!! It's gorgeous!! Take a look...

Here's my layout inspired by these gorgeous colours!!!

I started off with some Echo Park papers, and gave the background a generous splash of Dylusions paints. Love the Bubblegum Pink and the Lemon Zest together!!! I then stencilled on some Soft Gloss Gel, mixed with a little paint, through a The Crafter's Workshop Stencil.

I used a large doily as a mat, and layered some more EP patterned papers & sticker accents, Heidi Swapp Paper, Kaisercraft Collectables, Chickaniddy enamel shapes and assorted flowers. I re-coloured nearly all of the flowers I used with either Heidi Swapp Colorshine, or Distress Inks & water. Finished off with a Heidi Swapp acrylic title. Pretty happy with this one. Love this photo of my daughter who looks so very pretty!!!

Kraft Plus November Challenge

It's nearing the end of the month, so I'm trying to catch up on a few blog challenges! This month's Kraft Plus Challenge, is to be inspired by PINK, the artist, not the colour!! and of course a Kraft background. Here's the album cover I picked as my inspiration:
I chose the colours of this album cover as my inspiration and they happened to be Christmas colours, so I have gone with a Christmas themed layout!! Here's my layout:

I've used some gold foil cardstock from Kaszazz, along with their Jolly Christmas range of papers. Kraft background of course, some Heidi Swapp foil stars & arrow, sequins, washi tape, Kaszazz stamps, Dylusions Sprays and the Poinsettia flowers I am over the moon to finally use as they have been in my stash for a very long time!! They were from Sanook paper Company in San Francisco!! TFL.

CSI COLOR STORIES INSPIRATION MAJOR CASE FILE NO 181

So, feel like I finally got my mojo back after a crazy 4 days in Adelaide. I was pretty exhausted when I returned and couldn't do alot. This Case file was a bit challenging for me at first,I had already put one kit together, and then decided it just wasn't working, so after a break and some different photos of my son being a dare devil, it all came together.
here is the Case file and the sketch for no. 181..

And here is my take on the Case File:

I have used some gorgoeus AUTHENTIQUE PAPERS, courtesy of the lovely Vicki from SCRAP MATRIX!!! From Kaszazz, I have used, cardstock, stamps, inks, Alcohol Ink Art markers, twine & metal slides. Other stamps used are Basic Grey, Papercraft & Kelly Purkey. Kaisercraft rub ons, Stickers & alphas-Authentique, thickers, Bella Cork alphas. & Collected & Co. Enamel dots and triangles from Francheville and Chickaniddy. There's also some washi tape & acrylic paint included!!!

October Mid-month challenge, SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD

The lovely Heather McMahon has challenged me to play along with her amazingly, gorgeous moodboard over at SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD! I was already inspired by the gorgeous colours, and couldn't go past this one! Take a look at the board:

I had a layout in mind, using a Selfie I took recently, and something that has been going on in my head for quite some time. Thinking about taking a huge Leap of Faith. this is a message to myself, and I wanted it to be a big, bright reminder every day!!! Here's my layout:

I was initially inspired by the water colour image, top left, which gave me the idea for a shaving foam and  Dylusions  background!...That was alot of fun! I then added a bit of Distress ink by wiping the ink pad directly over the coloured background. I used a Kaszazz stencil and some Dylusions paints for the gorgeous circles, which were inspired by the bottom, middle image, and tried to mimic alot of the colours from the mood board. The gorgeous flowers are from Scrap Matrix, Prima, Kaszazz and an Op shop find, I recoloured the pink ones with Dylusions sprays. There's some 7 dots papers, H. .Swapp papers, Paint chips & Kaiser papers. I love the Collected & Co. alphas! Lots of Kaszazz stamps on there and enamel dots are by Francheville. I've fussy cut some little hearts as I loved the hanging mobile in the bottom right image. So as you can see, the whole Moodboard pretty much inspired me!!! Well done Heather!

Here's a few images showing the shaving foam background up close.

Kraft Plus October Challenge

Inspired by nature is the theme of this month's KRAFT PLUS CHALLENGE. I love the way these Kraft Plus challenges actually challenge me. Sometimes even the smallest criteria makes me think hard for a long time, it's great thinking outside the box! So here's their lovely little theme board...

And here's my take on the challenge!!!

As you can see, my little piece of nature shows in the close up. A small group of sticks I picked up from my garden. I wrapped a few colours of twine (from KASZAZZ), around them to make them stand out. My feathers are in the way of stamped Dream Catcher & small feathers which I embossed and then coloured with Distress Ink Markers. I cut a few of the feathers out and hung on the leaf and flair embelllishments too.

I have had these Kaisercraft papers & wooden leaves in my stash for quite a long time now, and so happy I had the perfect opportunity to use them with this gorgeous photo of our little niece. She is almost 18 months old now and we still haven't met her. Sometimes distance sucks!!! I also used some Project Life cards, a stencil and ink for the background, and finished with these cute little stars, I mysteriously found all over my lounge room floor last night!!! (The gremlins have been playing in my stash again!!!)TFL!

CSI Case file No: 177

I was so excited to be Featured on the CSI Facebook Page and website as one of the Most Wanted for Case File NO> 173. Such a lovley compliment. Today I am sharing my layout for Case file no.177!
here is the Case File & criteria!!

Here is my layout, titled"LUCKY US"!

In 2012, our family spent 4 months travelling the Northern Territory and South Australia. We camped at the Flinders Ranges for about 4 days, and the wildlife we saw was amazing, One of the highlights was seeing this EMU and it's chicks walking along the road. We stopped to take it all in, it was truly an amazing moment!
I've used some October Afternoon & Amy Tangerine papers, kaszazz cardstock, Merci embellishments, flowers & eyelets I've had in my stash for a long time!!! ( I love using up old stash among with some new items, such as the Kaisercraft alphas!) There's some stencil work with inks and Distress paints. The crafter's Workshop & Kaszazz stencils!) TFL!
