D-Lish Scraps December Mood Board Challenge

Wow, so Christmas has been and gone!! I survived it, only just! We had a rather different Christmas this year, our first one in our new home! We shared it with friends, Dave's Brother, our new puppy, Sammi, and another dog Willow!!! Lots of organising for the big day, I seem to be taking a few days to really get over it and just chill! Nothing a little scrapping wont fix! So I'm so happy I've made the deadline for D-Lish Scraps December mood board!! I just loved the colours and the sketch. Take a look:

And here's my take on the sketch! The image is of my daughter and one of her BFF's, Christina.Of course it's a selfie pic, as that's what they do! But it's a gorgeous one and I couldn't resist!

I used lots of Heidi Swapp goodies, as usual !! Including, papers,Color Shine, embellishments, buzz words and stamps. I also used the new HAPPY SNAPS papers by Kaisercraft! A doily, Gesso and a Kaszazz stencil. Inks by Colorbox, washi tape and other random stamps in my collection!!! TFL!

Scrappy Canary November Sketch challenge

Hi there, I've been back to my scrapping desk after a busy week of craft fairs, birthday parties and all things kids and Christmas!!! Just in time to sneak this layout in, which I made using the Scrappy Canary blog sketch for November!
Here is the sketch:
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOM3RQAse_VJKPM7C1FKRW9hIqIkHhFrUjTNj1cucDEJqF3vrSIsMmJj6kTLfYuLLUqe9AXHY-94vK4Ugogo5yutxyqVq-9kej30KMGtKThMqwkuIIX8315c04qVuApF-igEgo4i0nMgJz/s1600/November+Sketch.png
And here is my layout, using Kaiser papers as a base, then I gessoed the middle so I could spray mist a blue alpha stencil for a school themed background.I went a bit random with the chevron stamp, some arrow stamps and sequins, and found a few spots for my new Heidi Swapp stamps, which are so cute. I have collected quite a few of them now and I love the little words and quotes.

Christmas tags and cards

Well I have one more week until the Saltwater Craft Fair here in Darwin. I have been madly making cards, tags, all things Christmas and all things papercraft. Here are some more tags I made using the same design I previously came up with. I embossed stars onto the background with the new Kaszazz embossing folder, and used the shield die to cuts out the shapes. Stamps and ribbon are also Kaszazz and the tiny red gems are from a gift I received from a fellow papercrafter and friend.

...and some cute and simple little cards I made using inspiration from Pinterest!
Below, is a pic of some Christmas gift boxes I made. My 11 yr old daughter made some of these at school last year and taught me how to make them!!! (Chip off the old block!) I love them! I have seen instructions for them elsewhere, and probably on Pinterest. If you search, Origami boxes, you are sure to come up with some variations!

D-Lish Scraps November moodboard challenge!

Hi again! I can't believe another month has come around since the last moodboard challenge at D-Lish Scraps. I'm glad though, as i was in need of some more challenge inspiration!
here's the November moodboard!!! (I love that they also give you a sketch, which makes it super easy to play along in a short time frame!!!)
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkmaazHwMy5ad-J2PwkF-LPyTXjzElI799X_EbLCpG2C_Nn6W5mT0fYUoPbPJRNObe8kKNiCMQC1sqa6MJxoTRCrDbYh7GKhQ7IM_Ac-i1kMxWUdYdxXqISP5QdC8_JZK9UziQ1PrrCcx0/s1600/Coral+Glitz+Inspiration+Board.jpghttp://d-lishscraps.blogspot.com.au/2014/11/november-inspiration-board-challenge.html

And here's my layout: 'Story' is about my two little darlings who are growing up so fast! This photo was taken in 2008, just after i had my first solo holiday away from them. I had missed them so much, and i got home and they were so sun tanned. They had been in the pool every day with their Dad! This is one of my favourite pics!

.

I love all the gold in this one,
I went a bit mad, using loads of Heidi Swapp project life embellishments, aswell as her papers and fab plastic words which I attatched to some white cardstock and fussy cut to make them stand out as my title on my page.
This pic shows up close, the Perfect Pearls I used with Perfect medium and a Kaszazz stencil. There's also a little Ranger Ice Stickles on there, some American Crafts-Dear Lizzy papers, washi tape and some cute banner stickers from Echo Park. The gold cardstock is from Kaszazz.TFL!!!

Card frenzy!!!

Hi, I found a few hours of time for me yesterday and went on a mad card making frenzy! (I made 23 cards in total!) Which is good because that craft fair is coming up really soon!!! I decided to revisit my enormous stash of rub ons which have been locked away for awhile. These should never be underestimated, really, they have a multitude of uses and I guess as they have been out of sight for awhile they were out of mind aswell!
Anyway, I love Fancy Pants Designs stuff, I always have, and have had some of their gorgeous rub ons in my stash for way too long!!!
I made a pretty baby card using a quote from the rub ons, some flowers, and then I rubbed a larger flower onto some white card and fussy cut it for a 3D embellishment. The cute little birds are from some discontinued Kaszazz rub ons! I Backed the little panel with some cardstock and onto a white card, which I embossed, (letterpress style), with a Stampin Up's hexagon die and some Colorbox ink. Hope you like!!!
The next card was inspired by a few different cards I spyed on Pinterest. I used some bling cardstock for my base card followed by a panel of silver. Then a panel of embossed white card, I sprayed with Smooch Spritz and dabbed and flicked some spritz and paint on there for the background. I also used a background stamp and some twine underneath a small punched panel of card, and finished off with a little touch of Heidi Swapp's paper, & embelly, and of course, my Ranger, enamel dots. I love the Kaisercraft wooden flourishes, this was half a one I had stashed away for a rainy day!
I made a batch of quick cards from an old Kaszazz demonstration card design I always loved. So simple, using the 2-step Hibiscus stamps, some lovely Colorbox fluid chalk inks and some vellum.

I finished them off with some pearls and a little Ice Stickles! These are great to have made up for those special occasions! Leave them blank ( with no sentiment), for a go to card in a jiffy!TFL

Kaszazz Birthday Invitations

On my desk this week, are lots of things!!! Still going strong with makes for the Salt Water Craft Fair, I'm slowly getting a heap of birthday party Invitations made. The great thing about these invites from Kaszazz, is they came in kit form. (I say came, as the kits are no longer available, but you will be happy to know, all of the images are available as stamps, so there are endless possibilities for making loads of invitations.) I love the giant tags, they have so many wonderful uses!
I've made up 2 x sets of mermaids, and 1x set of pirates and I have another one to go. I find working at things like this is best done a bit here and there between other projects to keep me sane.

They look great when they are bagged up ready for display!

A little card make!

I'm always running late with my Birthday cards for niece and nephews. I never ever get them there on time! Don't know why???? They get them eventually and they are always hand-made by me. So I had to whip one up over the weekend for another nephew, and it was nice and quick, using a chevron stamp, (one of my favourites), some ink and washi tape. I'm lovin' my little Glitz Design stamp rollers this week, so used the chevron one on some plain washi to make it my own! Finished it off with some Ranger Enamel dots, which are a stash go to for my projects right now!!!! TFL.

The colours in this month's mood board over at JOT are so lovely. A real pastel pallete, one that made me instantly want to create a page. The photo of me as a little tacker has been sitting on my desk for awhile now and I'm so happy to have finally scrapped it! Here is the gorgeous mood board.

CHRISTMAS TAGS (Sneak peek)

Well, I have been busy making up sets of tags for Christmas. There is a great little market here in Darwin in November, called the SALTWATER CRAFT FAIR. It's run by the Tactile Arts Group, and this will be my first year running a stall.
Here's a peek at some of my finished tags!

Just love having my Die Cut and Embossing machine at arm's length again!!! Have Embossed the Background shield with Stars and Dots embossing folders and stamped images and sentiments before applying a lovely layer of  Ice Stickles and Distress Stickles. I have loads of ribbon to use in Christmas colours, so am enjoying using my existing stash for these!!!!

D-Lish Scraps inspiration Board Challenge

So this week I thought I would play along with D-Lish Scraps and their Mood Board challenge. I just loved the bright colours and was instantly inspired by the gorgeous collection of images in this one!

And here's my layout using lots of Heidi Swapp goodies...

Featuring her 'Favourite Things ' papers and ephemera. I've used some stamps, Heidi's cute little arrows and a fun Typo stamp I picked up in Singapore recently! I had this foam circle stencil in my stash which was packaging from something???? Knew it would come in handy one day...I sprayed some lovely Dylusions and Colour Shine into it, then stamped with the left overs. Very happy with the way it turned out!

I can't believe....

I have lost all of my photos from Blogger. Frustrated, is not the right word. I have looked into it in the forums, and it appears, I must have accidentally deleted my google+ account, which means all my photos were deleted from my blog. Not happy. I have been plugging away at this little blog for years, thank goodness all my journal entries are here, but photos...vanished! Ok, to take the positive from this, I still have all those photos somewhere on my hard drive and backed up thankfully. 2nd positive...I guess it's an opportunity to revamp my blog and start with a fresh new look.. So I need some scrap therapy and then will see you all soon!!!!
For now, here is a pic of the cards I made for our recent Kaszazz Team Training Day. I won 2nd prize on the day and have submitted them to the potential projects page for Consultants. I had the idea of doing a stained glass look on transparency with Alcohol Markers. I'm really pleased with the results!!! TFL !!!

Journal entry

Well I haven't done enough journalling lately and yet there has been oh so much to write about. In a nutshell, it's been a pretty challenging year. My little boy has been very sick since the beginning of the year and after 5 years of searching for answers, we got a diagnoses a few months ago. He had lots of nasty bacteria growing in his gut aswell as an overgrowth of yeast. If You've heard of 'Leaky Gut' then it is all related. The Doctors and dietician we are working with seem to think that after a month of strong antibiotics and top notch probiotics and glutagenics, aswell as the strictest diet which he's been on for months, things should get better. I'm not convinced and There are still belly aches coming and going.
He is 8 yrs old and understandably has been struggling with this Paleo diet. He has had birthday parties to go to recently which are challenging. He has to take his own lunch box and miss out on cake. It breaks my heart!!!
There wasn't much fat on him to begin with and I am watching him get thinner and thinner.
Before the treatment, was so hard. Every single day he was suffering and I was right there suffering  with him. Plus packing up and moving into our new home, it's been quite stressful. Lots of tests, doctors visits and house stuff, I thought I was going mad for awhile!! (He he and now in the house with stuff all around us that needs a place, hubby is renovating and yesterday, the existing tiny swimming pool got dug out and as we speak there are machines going back and forth under the house to dig a massive hole for the new pool. I'm convinced It will all send me mad.)
There has been much improvement in Jack's health and his little personality is coming back, but I worry that it's an ongoing thing that must be carefully managed.  I just want my little man well.
On a happier note, we celebrated Territory Day here in Darwin on Tuesday, it's pretty mad really, but Jack went with his Dad to the beach and they knocked themselves out letting off as many firecrackers as they could. He had a fantastic time. Taylah and I went to Skycity Casino to watch the proffessionals do it and had a lovely meal.
Here's a couple of pics of the sunset and fireworks!!!

Prima products

I've always loved Prima products, especially their flowers and blooms. I remember going mad buying heaps of them after I took one of Sharon Laakonnen's classes in Cairns a few years back. We did a canvas album which I'm sure I would've posted here some time ago. Anyway, till then I had never really been a flowers on my layout type of girl. Here's a couple of my recent projects, (before the big house move!!!), using mainly Prima stuff. You will also see a little bit of Heidi on the card with the butterfly.

However, I did manage to play with my new Kaszazz water colour pencils. Let me tell you ...I AM IN LOVE! WOW, The colours are amazing. Here I have used them on canvas paper and they suit this medium perfectly. They are smooth and they blend extremely well. They are vibrant, i want to play all day long!!! 2 New layouts for NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY 2014

CAN YOU BELIEVE THERE IS ACTUALLY A national scrapbooking day???? I just loved telling Hubby that I didn't need an excuse to scrapbook this weekend, it was an absolute must!!!!!! I worked on one layout I'm doing for a challenge, and then squeezed in two really quick pages. I'm so happy that I stopped all the thinking and looking for inspiration and just finally sat and did it. I'm hoping this means the mojo is coming back with a vengeance.
It may have something to do with the fact that the "happy" is coming back as we also purchased a house over the weekend!!! YAY TO THAT...
First layout...
I wanted to use lots of Heidi Swapp goodies on this one...So I did. Papers are from her Hello Today range. used Colourshine and the cute little sequin stamp. The only things not Heidi are the seam binding bow, but I did recolour it with Georgia Peach Colourshine, and the cardstock which are both from Kaszazz.
I was following along with Big Picture Classes this weekend as they were hoping to upload  10 000 layouts!!!! So much inspiration on their Instagram feed!!!
I enjoy scrapping in 8 1/2 x 11", and it's been awhile, so for a quick page, I threw this one together with some Amy Tangerine Papers and tags, Dear Lizzy tags, Kaiser stamps, Washi tape and Kaszazz butterfly stamp coloured with Alcohol Ink Art markers. I picked up a few cute little punches when we were in Adelaide at Christmas, love this little love heart one.
It feels good to get a few pages done!!! TFL..

Kaszazz Masterclass

This one has been waiting for a couple of finishing touches! Finally done! This is one of the classes I am lucky enough to teach with Kaszazz. It's a MASTERCLASS which makes it a bit more involved than the normal 2 hour workshops. Making your own flowers is a technique learned in this one.
I love these bright photos of my daughter. They are selfies she took with her Ipad while waiting for her dance performance. I'm glad she took them as I wasn't able to take photos in the Convention Centre!!! TFL!

Kreative Koncepts sketch challenge #24

So I went and treated myself to some new stash yesterday. Spotlight had a special on Kaisercraft, Kaleidoscope products. Yay!! So I got me some Collectables and a pattern paper kit. And....for once, I actually started creating with it straight away. I looked to Kreative Koncepts for some sketch inspiration, see below!
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEhNbW_ow1kOW4vREuKpKzkOub4c89A_w5qZ2JvM-7INiJXjFLTuD3gfqmdPxaCej91JWSIYxK7AY1iCCJijR8kxD4xB937xgIEYwWxRsEFtV8oL2fsCeLDa9_6rYfGl46HIVl2ql9-lks/s1600/KK+Sketch+24-April+2014c.jpg
My little sister has been visiting Australia from London, and just spent 5 days with us here in Darwin. I have many photos but really wanted to scrap this one of just her and I together. It's been 3 1/2 years, and it may be that long again until we see each other.
Apart from the goodies I purchased, I also used Prima flowers and some Rosie's studio resin flowers. Kaiser wooden flourish and a Craftworks wooden clock. I made the most of my wooden embellies, and used some from Stampin Up aswell. There's a Flair badge from Flutterby Designs, and I used some Heidi Swapp color Shine, Smooch Spritz, seam binding, and a Kaszazz tag, misted with spray ink and a chevron stencil from Kaszazz. I hope you like and don't forget to check out the challenge by clicking on the sketch or link above!!!

Another attempt at Memory Files

I sooo love Heidi Swapp and all of her amazing products, tutorials and My Craft Channel videos!! Her talent never ceases to amaze me. When I first saw her Memory File scrapbooking it wowed me and took my craft to a whole new exciting level. I've collected a few but so far haven't made many, but i intend to do alot more of this style of scrapping, especially for birthdays and events where lots of photos are taken.
This one is for my daughter's 11th birthday which she celebrated in January!
The outer file is a Color Pop file sprayed with a little pink Color Shine. I've decorated with some cute banners and lovely acrylic butterfly, (part of my big Heidi haul from Spotlight. So happy they are stocking Heidi Products!!!

These pics show the gorgeous colour I ended up with when I mixed Tropicana Teal and Pink Color Shine!!! Love it!! And love the Color Magic ephemera!

This is what you see when you open up the file. I've used a few other brand products to compliment Heidi's products. Some paper from Rosie's studio, some washi tape and some cute stamps from Kaiser. I got myself some of Heidi's cute little stamps too which you can see dotted throughout!
I actually traced around a photo stack and made my own, and decorated with a few stamps from Kaszazz and some Glitz roller stamps.

Love the gorgeous tiny star stamps from Heidi.

Think this is my favourite page. I made the smaller memory file from her new Hello today paper stack and decorated with some ephemera and a stamp. I made a little tag and banner for some journalling about all the things Taylah loves now or is doing right now!

This is what you see when you open up the smaller memory file.
I added a little part of a Project Life sleeve i cut out, to give me an extra flap in the photo stack!!! TFL...
