Kraft Plus Challenge June

Hi all,
it's been awhile since my last post. I'm finding it hard to keep up with my Social Media outlets at the moment, due to being sick, but thought I would leave a little love on my blog today. I have a layout here for my Design Team sample over at Kraft Plus, this month. It's soooo inspiring this month and all about Dr. Seuss!! here's the inspiration board:

Current Challenge

So you can either be inspired by the board, or by anything Dr Seuss! here's my page, (and a few close ups), which I had the perfect photo for!!!

My kids are both good readers, so the photo was from book week a few years ago and I chose a quote to go with that theme, and made some embellishments using a TCW stencil and Dylusions paint. I finished those off with some bow ties made on my Ezy Press and a Kaszazz die.

Thanks for looking :)

Kraft Plus Design Team post- March Challenge

Hi all!!!. It's the first of the month, new challenges are happening all around the Scrappy Community!! I have my DT take on this month's Kraft + challenge, which is awesome by the way. You must use Denim on your project somewhere and if you like, be inspired by this awesome moodboard!

Image may contain: shoes

I struggled for a bit to find some denim that wasn't being worn!! Then I came across a cute little denim, Barbie doll skirt, which my daughter had once loved. I couldn't make it work on my page as it was, so I decided to die cut some little love hearts out of it, (using my Kaszazz, Ezy Press!), and add to my page! It even has some sparkles in it!

I went for a very purple, mixed media background!! I used Distress paints, Distress inks, stencils by Prima and Kaisercraft, & some texture paste. There's a few Kaszazz stamps I repeated, for another layer, then came the addition of some cute cut files from Silhouette and Cocoa Vanilla Studio!!! (Love cut files and really should use that Cameo machine alot more!!!)

The very cute heart embellishment is from Charm's Creations, and the 2nd flower cluster, I made using Kaszazz flowers, (re-coloured with Dylusions sprays), and a little resin flower, I think I picked up from Spotlight for very cheap!!!

Cardstock is Kaszazz and patterned papers were from Kaszazz, Amy Tangerine & Chickaniddy-365. Oh and the felt doilies were a $2 shop find!!! (Don't you love a good find? Speaking of which...the sequins were also found in an OP SHOP, in a huge bag with beads and some other fun bits!!!)

So here's the finished page, which also has a couple of Heidi Swapp word stickers & date stamp!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Final Design Team Project for Off the Rails!!!

Well, I decided to make this my last project for Off the Rails! I have a few too many things on the go and just wanted to lessen my load a little. There's some very talented Designers over there, I hope you will go and check them out if you haven't visited before!!!

So for my tutorial this month, I decided to break out that Geli Plate that I purchased when in Adelaide before Christmas. It's something I have always wanted, but they are not cheap, so I had to wait a little bit!! Anyway, the possibilities are endless with these, although, it does take a little practice, working out which mediums work better!!!

I used Acrylic paints for these backgrounds, along with some die duts, a stencil, bubble wrap and a brayer to apply!!!

For full details on step by step, head over to the OTR blog and find out! Here are some pics anyway!!!

And what I did with the backgrounds when I had finished was made some cards with them!!! The cards are made using all Kaszazz products, except for the Geli Plate!

Kraft Plus February challenge

Well, there goes the first month of 2017, wow!!!! I've been off to a great start, I have to say, lots of Arty, crafty projects and accolades, feeling very accomplished!!! Today I'm sharing my Design Team project for this awesome February sketch and colour themed board, over at Kraft Plus challenge blog!!!

Now, I love a sketch, and I love those colours, but for some reason, I couldn't get the mojo happening. I ended up deciding to make a card, which takes the pressure off a bit. That's the great thing about K+, you can make other projects, it doesn't necessarily have to be a scrapbook page, as long as it's on a Kraft background!

I started with a script background, using a Dusty Attic stencil with the new transparent gloss texture paste from Ranger, (now in the Kaszazz range...yay). I added some gorgeous, Prima, Art Alchemy paint in blue-gold, seriously one of my faves at the mo!

Then, I just layered up with some 7 dots tags, a Kaiser collectable & some Green Tara flowers. (Part of my stash shopping at Seriously Scrapbooking in Adelaide!!!)

There's some Kaszazz twine in there, and a die cut wreath & leaves, also Kaszazz! I have a cute little, clear stamp collection, so the sentiment came from there, Kaisercraft and I think Dear Lizzy or Amy Tan..oops can't remember.

I tried to show how the Art Alchemy paint changes colour, depending on the light!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Scrap the Girls October Moodboard

Hi all, just sharing my Scrap the Girls Design Team take on the moodboard this month!!! Wow, October already!!! This one was quite a tricky moodboard!

I love the colours, but struggled to find too many things in my stash which were the right fit. I did find my background page pretty quickly, my last piece from a Blue Fern Studios kit, so gorgeous!
I used a little Distress Ink and water on the background, with a flick of Heidi Swapp Colorshine. Then just layered some papers, from Kaisercraft and a few Project Life cards which had the smidge of grey and purple on them.

I had this gorgeous pack of die cuts in my drawer, which were a generic brand purchased from a $2
shop, They were the perfect colours and so I just went all out with them over my page. Perfect, love the little deer. (He got a little purple splatter on him when I inked the background, but hey, it's all relative!) I love the little flower cluster too!

Can't believe this was 12 years ago, when my baby girl was just 1. How time does fly!!!
TFL!!!!

First Design Team Reveal for Off The Rails!!

Another exciting day today, as the 1st project for my Off the Rails DT gig is revealed, yay. The moodboard was black + anything goes, with some gorgeous inspirational images. I decided to do a card. I was forced to be behind in my DT projects this month due to having SHINGLES which was quite horrific. So that lost about 2 weeks of valuable creating time for me.
But anyway, I came up with this card, and I'm quite chuffed with it!

I started with a white card base, and found a piece of Glossy black cardstock in my stash, from Kaszazz. (I had already punched a scalloped border on one edge, bonus!!!) I love the Glossy card. I added some Texture paste through a TCW stencil and while that was drying, stamped some Kaszazz Spring flowers and border stamps onto watercolour paper. I then had fun with my Kaszazz watercolour pencils and my Aquash water brush, colouring them in.
I wanted to add something special to the large flower centres, so used some Scrap Matrix micro beads.

I attatched and mounted flowers, cut them up a little to piece them together and added some die cut Leafy Flourishes, (also Kaszazz), and one of my favourite Heidi Swapp die cut words, 'happy'. Then stamped a birthday sentiment and embossed it in white! Hope you like it, and don't forget to visit Off the Rails blog for some more Design Team inspiration and current moodboard.

Wow, can't believe I cracked 2 case files in one week. Mojo must be coming back!! Here's a pic of the latest case file no. 182, over at CSI.

Angels, Alpha stickers- Prima, Chipboard word-Blue Fern Studios from Scrap Matrix, Computer font for journalling, Gesso, Art Markers- Kaszazz and Glossy accents to highlight the chipboard word.

A couple more projects inspired by Big Picture Classes lessons!!!

I'm really loving my membership over at Big picture Classes. I love that I have all these classes to choose from for such a small payment each month. The inspiration is amazing, so many cool teachers!!! Love all the choices of projects too. I can choose from cards, scrapbooking, art journalling and more, whatever my mood is, there's something to inspire me!!!! So here's a couple more cards I did this week!
The first card was about using build it up stamps, which I don't have an actual set of, so I just found a really large Grant Archival set in my stash and used a few of the cool little flourishy ones! I used Colorbox inks in some Spring colours.

The 2nd one was about finding inspiration in art, stationery or decor, or everyday! I found this cool tissue box while doing the shopping and had a play at circles. I used a cork and some Dylusions and Heidi Swapp Color Shine to stamp the circles and then watercolour paints in the middle. I also layered a die cut sentiment and embossed it with gold 3 times which I'm kind of in love with the results.

Christmas tags and cards

Well I have one more week until the Saltwater Craft Fair here in Darwin. I have been madly making cards, tags, all things Christmas and all things papercraft. Here are some more tags I made using the same design I previously came up with. I embossed stars onto the background with the new Kaszazz embossing folder, and used the shield die to cuts out the shapes. Stamps and ribbon are also Kaszazz and the tiny red gems are from a gift I received from a fellow papercrafter and friend.

...and some cute and simple little cards I made using inspiration from Pinterest!
Below, is a pic of some Christmas gift boxes I made. My 11 yr old daughter made some of these at school last year and taught me how to make them!!! (Chip off the old block!) I love them! I have seen instructions for them elsewhere, and probably on Pinterest. If you search, Origami boxes, you are sure to come up with some variations!

CHRISTMAS TAGS (Sneak peek)

Well, I have been busy making up sets of tags for Christmas. There is a great little market here in Darwin in November, called the SALTWATER CRAFT FAIR. It's run by the Tactile Arts Group, and this will be my first year running a stall.
Here's a peek at some of my finished tags!

Just love having my Die Cut and Embossing machine at arm's length again!!! Have Embossed the Background shield with Stars and Dots embossing folders and stamped images and sentiments before applying a lovely layer of  Ice Stickles and Distress Stickles. I have loads of ribbon to use in Christmas colours, so am enjoying using my existing stash for these!!!!

I can't believe....

I have lost all of my photos from Blogger. Frustrated, is not the right word. I have looked into it in the forums, and it appears, I must have accidentally deleted my google+ account, which means all my photos were deleted from my blog. Not happy. I have been plugging away at this little blog for years, thank goodness all my journal entries are here, but photos...vanished! Ok, to take the positive from this, I still have all those photos somewhere on my hard drive and backed up thankfully. 2nd positive...I guess it's an opportunity to revamp my blog and start with a fresh new look.. So I need some scrap therapy and then will see you all soon!!!!
For now, here is a pic of the cards I made for our recent Kaszazz Team Training Day. I won 2nd prize on the day and have submitted them to the potential projects page for Consultants. I had the idea of doing a stained glass look on transparency with Alcohol Markers. I'm really pleased with the results!!! TFL !!!
