Kraft Plus July challenge

Hi all, I am scraping this one in again this month. I so like to do the Kraft Plus challenge each month, but I seem to be having less time. However, I still have quite a few hours left in the day and it's the last day of the challenge, and I made it!!! So this months inspiration & requirement, was the moodboard and Sheet music and of course on a Kraft background. Here's the sweet board:

I was inspired by the Script, and sheet music, and flowers, and the two pastel colours of mint green and pinky/peach.

I started with a collage background of some torn sheet music and an old book page, then gessoed over the top of them. I then sprayed two different colours of Heidi Swapp Colorshine over that and when dry, I stamped a Newsprint background and Music stamp, both from Kaszazz. I had only the one piece of old sheet music paper which was given to me by one of my Art Journal students. How cool! I used a large strip for the banner and then placed some washi tape and some Amy Tangerine paper for another banner.

I love doilies, and this one was just what I needed to break up the colours. I got out my Kaszazz Ezy Press and die cut some love hearts, from the Dear Lizzy music paper and for my photo and photo mat. There's a cute little transparency piece with gold dots on it in there, that came in a pocket letter swap, love all the bits I have collected from my pals!!!
I jazzed up some paper flowers with Color Shine and the Newsprint stamp, joined 3 together with a cute Basic Grey brad. All the other flowers were re-coloured with Color shine.

My wood veneers are from Merci and Stampin Up, enamel dots from Francheville and the Thickers are Amy Tangerine!

I finished off with some cute little, white embossed music notes, and went around the edges of my page with some Colourbox fluid chalk ink. I'm happy to say I dug deep into some old stash for this challenge, the Dear Lizzy paper, the little black and white border stickers, from Cloud 9 I think, and the brads, all go back a long time, feels good to do that!!!!
Thanks for looking! See you next time!!!

Marquee Love Design Team fun

Good morning everyone, hope your Saturday is going to be awesome!! I was so lucky to receive a Marquee Love letter kit for one of my DT projects over at Scrappingclearly this month!!!! After the excitement settled, I then had no idea what to do with it!! Lol. So, of course, I took to Pinterest and looked for some inspiration. I didn't really find any from the actual lights themselves, but I saw another project with a wooden letter covered in wool, and somehow, this sparked an idea in my mind!!!

These lights are easy to work with, they are very light and made from card, so you can paint them, spray ink on them or just cover them in patterned paper! I went for the spray ink option and tried to match the colour's to my daughter's bedroom!

As you can see, below, I used lots of Heidi Swapp goodies to compliment my letter 'B'. There's Colorshine in 3 different colours, (the yellow was Dylusions ink, as we wanted that to be bright!) There's some cute Heidi Swapp lace ribbon and I used the Marquee Love, gold tape for the edges!

The flowers are Prima sugar blooms, I popped a few on there for decoration with the lace, using an American Crafts clothespin. That way my daughter can remove them if she doesn't want the flowers on there!

I love how quickly, and simply this project came together! What great gifts these make! Hope you like it and TFL!

Scrappingclearly July moodboard inspiration

Hi everyone, just sharing my Design Team take on this month's moodboard over at Scrappingclearly. Did you know they have 2 challenges per month now, a sketch and moodboard! Totally cool, the inspiration is great! Here is the wintery, warm inspiration for you:

I really went for it with Gold, for this layout, I knew the perfect papers and accessories I had in my collection of DT goodies would be perfect for this layout of my beautiful boy. Can't believe this was 10 years ago, really, where on earth do the years go???

I have been working with the Maggie Holmes, Bloom range and the Dear Lizzy, Happy Place collection. I just love the gold foil vellum from the Bloom collection. I also have quite a bit of product left from the Teresa Collins Life Emporium range. (The chipboard stickers, & wood dots you can see below.)

There's also some Heidi Swapp product on there, of course, and a doily and some of those really cool glitter dots which just keep going! (Yes, best $2 shop find ever!) Had to finish off with some of the Gold Foil Thickers, which are so shiny, love them!!! If you would like to know a few more details or find out where you can get most of the products I have used, there is a link to the Scrappingclearly blog above, my post on the blog will link you straight to them!

Thanks for visiting, see you next time!

Scrappingclearly July sketch DT entry.

Hi all, today I'm sharing my take on our own DT member, Chloe's awesome sketch! I'm up on the blog today with my interpretation! Here is the sketch:

And here's my layout using a mix of the fabbo Maggie Holmes Bloom and Dear Lizzy Happy Place papers and embellishments. (All can be found in the Scrappingclearly store!)

From my own stash I've used some Francheville enamel dots, a chippy title I have had in my stash forever and a day, can't even tell you who the supplier is :(, and I've painted it with some Ranger Distress Paints and Dylusions paints to get the right colour!

Love this pic of Taylah getting ready to go trick or treating with her friends when we lived in Port Douglas. Brings back lots of happy memories! Thanks for visiting!

Scrap the Girls Sketch challenge DT post

Hello again!! I have a Design Team layout here, for Scrap the Girls sketch challenge this month, (you can see the full reveal and other awesome DT member's work over on the blog!!

Here is the sketch!!!!

I started with a TCW stencil and sponged some Distress Inks through it for my background. Love the watercolour effect this produces! I also did some stamping and flicked some Heidi Swapp Colorshine on there. Then I worked in clusters, using Echo Park and the lovely STITCHED range of papers from Amy Tangerine, with matching die cuts.

There's some cute Simple Stories word stickers, Fynmark mini alphas and my chipboard title is from Blue Fern Studios. (Coloured in a few different mediums and coated with some Glossy Accents for dimension!)

I love the little gold glitter dots to finish off near my clusters. (I got these from a $2 shop and there are silver ones in the pack too!)
Thanks for looking and don't forget to visit the Scrap the Girls Blog and play along this month!!! It's a fun sketch to work with!
