Challenge Day for me....ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE!!!

Well, what a cool name for a challenge site!!! Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge has a different take on challenges, and one I like, not too demanding or stessful this month, Just CREATE WITH THE COLOUR BLUE, or CREATE ABOUT SOMETHING THAT MAKES/MADE YOU BLUE.
So Blue it was, and funnily enough, I now have a few projects on the go using the colour blue!!!
Here's my entry:

It's a Mixed media Art Journal page, created with tons of stuff. After priming my pages with Gesso,  I started by slapping some paint onto my acrylic block and then stamping it onto my pages, which created some uneven gaps. In the gaps, I used some Gelatos, (thanks to my friend Vicki at Scrap matrix!!!), and loved playing with these by the way, great for blending some added colour highlighs. I then went a bit stencil crazy with the stars and a beautiful flourish. I then used some Kaszazz and Kaiser stamps with black acrylic paint and Staz On, The middle of the dream catcher started as a stencilled image, then I added a bit of black texta and filled in the outsied edge with some black lace!! Wowza, another item I've used that's been in my stash forever!! In the middle of the dream catcher I used some micro beads, clear gesso, which for some reason didn't dry clear, so I added some Perfect Pears over the top!!! The feathers were also a much held onto item in my stash!! And the beads are from a much loved broken necklace!!! Very happy to have used up some stuff! TFL!

Kraft Plus march challenge

  • So I was lucky enough to accomplish 2 layouts on my days off. Funny story...The sketch I decided to use for my previous layout below, YOUR LAST BOMBIES FROM TOP ROCK, was a Page Maps sketch by Becky Fleck. I have loads of her sketches in my collection. When I looked at this month's Kraft plus challenge, I did a double take and realised they were using the same sketch! SPOOKY. I don't think I've ever used the same sketch twice in a row before, but the fun part was I turned the sketch on it's side and played around with placement of things a little and only used one photo! I'm happy with the result! So here's the sketch from Kraft Plus !

And here's my take on the sketch!

I've used some of my Heidi Swapp Project Life cards & chippies from the Glitter kit!!! (No escaping the glitter in this baby!) Assorted washi tapes, sequins, Francheville enamel dots, Arrow Stamp, A Heidi Swapp sequined arrow, love these!!! A little Heidi stamp, chippy and some glitter on glue dots!!!
I don't think I have ever used so much bling on a layout before, but I like it!

Jot mood board March inspiration

Well, another weekend and another layout accomplished! Thanks to the gorgeous inspiration from this months, Jot Magazine Moodboard. It's so fresh, love the colours this month. Here's the board!
SMALL
And here's my take on the Moodboard!

My title consists of some rub ons, a label from my P_touch, Heidi Swapp Alphas and  Amy Tangerine alphas. I've also used Am. Crafts Cardstock and a few Kaszazz goodies: card, washi tape. Some water colour paints, with a little Dylusions over the top, some Heidi ephemera and Fiskars threading water punch, (which I haven't used in awhile!) I snuck in some stamped washi images from Stampin Up and finished off with some cute little Kaisercraft epoxy drops. (I recently visited their outlet store at Robina in Queensland, and that was loverly!!!!!!!!)
The story is simply: Our last hoorah in our Queensland home, while we were packing it up for the last time to hand over to new owners. The kids loved the pool, we all did, especially hubby who put his heart and soul into the design and concrete around it! Oh well, we have another new pool waiting for lots of new adventures, but this is an important memory documented!
