Scrappingclearly DT post August 2016

Hi all! Today I'm sharing my 3rd Scrappingclearly post for August!!! I can't believe it's nearly the end of the month!!! I'm really happy with this layout, featuring my two beautiful kids from 8 years ago!!! they look so tiny!!!

My inspiration for this layout came from a class with Nicole Nowosad, over at Big Picture Classes!! I've been a member with them for quite a few years now, and their new website and classes are just amazing. For a small monthly fee, you have access to as many classes as you can do, and they are constantly coming up with new ones. Take a look if you haven't done before!!!
I even broke out the sewing machine for this one...OMG..It's been awhile! Must be the new desk Hubby built me, more space, and using more things because I can!!!!

There's lots of layers behind my photo and I wanted it to pop off the page, so instead of going mad with the magic mount, I remembered a tip I learned a long time ago, and cut a large square of chipboard and taped that to the back instead! I've popped some vellum between the layers, to soften the mix of patterned papers a little. I've used the gorgeous Shimelle, Starshine and Maggie Holmes Open Book collections!
My embellishments: wood veneers by Studio Calico, Kaisercraft die cut push bike and a few flicks of Heidi Swapp Colorshine in navy. All other cut outs are from the Starshine papers!!! Love!

And there you have it!! A very colourful mix of Tertiary coloured patterned papers!!! Somehow, I think that it all works. Hope you like!

Scrappingclearly Moodboard

Hi! It's my turn on the Scrappingclearly blog today with my Design Team take on this month's moodboard! I've used the gorgeous, Starshine collection from American Crafts and Shimelle!

Love all the cut outs on these papers, and I actually got this layout done in a few hours, without the need for fussing with too much embellishing. The only other bits I added besides the papers, were some Heidi Swapp & Studio Calico wood veneer, some Heidi Swapp rub ons and a little journaling which I typed and printed from the computer.

A very clean and simple layout don't you think!!! Hope you can find some inspiration from this month's moodboard over at Scrappingclearly! (Click the link to see the great prizes on offer!)

Off the Rails Design Team, Mini album tutorial

Hi! I'm so excited to share another DT project with you! This one is my very first Tutorial for Off the Rails Scrapbooking!
I've made a cute little mini, canvas album, and I'm so happy with how it turned out!!! For a detailed description, check out the Off The Rails blog!!!!

I've used up so many bits and pieces here, no kit, just matching all my odd bits!!! It's quite satisfying!! The album was quite plain and boring before I started!!!

All it took was a bit of Colorshine, Distress Stains and Reinkers to give it some life!! I also love the lace I sewed to the bottom of each of the pages inside. I had a huge roll of this, thanks to Kaszazz!

Here's a few of the pages!!! Thanks for looking!!!

Scrappingclearly August sketch, Design Team layout

Today I'm sharing my DT take on the Scrappingclearly August sketch. This one is another created by fellow DT member, Chloe. I totally love her sketches!! This one looks like this:

My new Design Team kit consists of Maggie Holmes, Open Book and Shimelle Starshine this month, soooo many gorgeous papers and embellies. I've used mainly the Open Book and a touch of Maggie Holmes Bloom, and a few fussy cut flowers from one of the Shimelle papers. If you visit the Scrappingclearly Blog, I have a detailed description of all the other products used!!!!
Here is my layout:

And here's a few close ups for you!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope I've inspired you to play along with their sketch this month!!!! You can upload your link to the SC blog or on their Community Facebook page, for a chance at some great prizes.

Scrap the Girls August moodboard DT page

Well, hello, it's the 1st of August, and that means a new month and another new challenge. Yippee! I absolutely love this month's moodboard over at Scrap the Girls, I know you will too, it's just stunning!! Take a look....

I was immediately drawn to the image in the top right and thought my Kaszazz Mandala stamps would work a treat in my background.

First I added a coat of clear Gesso to my white cardstock, then sprayed some Dylusions inks and water. When that was dry, I started stamping my background. Aswell as the Mandala stamps, I also used some other Kaszazz stamps, the mesh stamp & net stamp.
I've used some Colourblast, colour paste in blue through a stencil and also used it to colour my chipboard arrow and feathers. (Which was one of the fab pieces I got from a prize I won from Dusty Attic.) It is stunning!

Actually, I did alot of colouring on this page!!! I coloured the flowers with Dylusions sprays and used Alcohol ink Art markers to colour bits of the Mandala stamp. Flowers are from Scrap Matrix and Merci.
There's some free glitter stickers and a paperclip from an old Scrapbooking Memories magazine, some twine and hessian, 7 Dots papers, stickers and journal tag, (which I've hidden), and a gorgeous Kaisercraft clear word sticker.

Hope you like my layout, it's one of my favourites I think!! TFL,
Tania

First Design Team Reveal for Off The Rails!!

Another exciting day today, as the 1st project for my Off the Rails DT gig is revealed, yay. The moodboard was black + anything goes, with some gorgeous inspirational images. I decided to do a card. I was forced to be behind in my DT projects this month due to having SHINGLES which was quite horrific. So that lost about 2 weeks of valuable creating time for me.
But anyway, I came up with this card, and I'm quite chuffed with it!

I started with a white card base, and found a piece of Glossy black cardstock in my stash, from Kaszazz. (I had already punched a scalloped border on one edge, bonus!!!) I love the Glossy card. I added some Texture paste through a TCW stencil and while that was drying, stamped some Kaszazz Spring flowers and border stamps onto watercolour paper. I then had fun with my Kaszazz watercolour pencils and my Aquash water brush, colouring them in.
I wanted to add something special to the large flower centres, so used some Scrap Matrix micro beads.

I attatched and mounted flowers, cut them up a little to piece them together and added some die cut Leafy Flourishes, (also Kaszazz), and one of my favourite Heidi Swapp die cut words, 'happy'. Then stamped a birthday sentiment and embossed it in white! Hope you like it, and don't forget to visit Off the Rails blog for some more Design Team inspiration and current moodboard.
