More December Daily pages

Well, it really is a challenge keeping up with December Daily. Taking the photos is not the problem for me, just getting around to editing and printing them is the hard bit. I think there's only been one day where I haven't taken a pic, but thought about what we did, and got photos to suit. Now madness has really set in with kids on holidays, driving me crazy already, and us leaving for Adelaide on Monday, trying to get all the washing done, bills paid, queries sorted and packing, and of course printing out whatever DD photos I have!! Taking it with me, who knows I may spend a tiny bit of time keeping it up to date! These are some of  the family photos I took last week. Our traditional family Christmas photo!

Playing with my new toy!!!

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally have myself a CANON 6D SLR. I have waited 7+ years for an upgrade from my 400D. So excited to get it out and play last weekend. Taylah is always up for some modelling, but Jack not so much! I did manage to get a couple of nice shots of the two of them which I like this one the best.

Then my girl decided to ham it up with a few hermit crabs!!! (At the beach across the road!)

DECEMBER DAILY STARTS TODAY!!!

I am so glad I finished preparing my December Daily album. Because today is the 1st December and I can't believe it!! Anyway, My album started off as a set of Collected & Co. file folders which I purchase at Big W. I trimmed through the middle of each one to make the pages ready to be bound later!

I have then added a variety of patterned paper and PL inserts for pages. I've really mixed it up and made it interactive! The pages with a file tab on them open out to more pages. The final page below will be the back of my album in which I plan to put a large family photo. We are heading to South Australia to be with all the rellies and so I hope to get as many of them in the pic as possible!

Now to get to work filling the first day of my album!! TFL!

Take Note

Love this gorgeous little journal spot book I just made! Thanks to the Black Friday deals over at Big Picture Classes!! If you head over to their blog here http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/blog/#.UpqI4JBDH4g and click on the link, you can have access to some awesome classes all for just $1.99US. I have purchased a few and started with this one!
I have used mainly kaszazz products, including a lot of scraps and discontinued journal pages. The size is 4x6", with some assorted 3x4" spots and a couple of odd sized tags etc.

The idea of this groovy little book is to keep it in my handbag for those conversations or moments to be recorded, that you just don't want to forget. Once you have written on your tag or journal spot, it is all ready to be placed straight onto a layout or your PL album!

I added some Kaszazz bracket and journal line stamps, and bound the album together with my brand new CINCH!!! I am so loving this little machine!!!!!
Hope you like!

Tutorial using Ranger enamel accents and Kaszazz Alcohol ink art markers

Grab a sheet of transparency or your plastic Kraft Mat and squeeze out a few drops of your chosen enamel accents, in different sizes.

Allow to dry and then colour with your Alcohol ink markers.

When the colour is dry to touch you can pick your little pearly accents off the sheet with a paper piercer or tweezers and adhere to your projects with a dot of glossy accents.

Voila! Instant coloured pearl accents!!

You can also try this with Glossy accents. As it dries clear, your coloured accents will probably be more pronounced.
If you would like more info on the Kaszazz Alcohol Ink Art Markers or Enamel accents, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Jot Magazine mini challenge!!!

THE GREATEST VIEW-a NEW MINI CHALLENGE OVER AT JOT MAGAZINE, click her to check it out!!

Just in time for another Jot Magazine blog challenge. This was a mini challenge with the theme THE GREATEST VIEW. I chose a recent pic. of my 7 year old son, sleeping. He looked so peaceful and I couldn’t believe how big he looked. However, even though he was peaceful then, later on in the night, he would be in my room, as he has been doing for the past week, due to bad dreams. We have moved again recently, he has his own room again, and has been watching Harry Potter movies and playing Harry Potter on the playstation. We have had to put a stop to these things for awhile, to see if his imagination can slow down!!! And we might all get some sleep.

I decided it was high time I started using up some of the FREE papers and stamp sets I have received with magazines. I give a lot of them away, but some I just can’t part with. I have a lot of stash in storage at the moment, so now is the perfect time to use what I have!!!! And then, I don’t feel guilty about using a few BRAND NEW products aswell.
Other materials used were: KASZAZZ-card stock, Art Markers, Distress inks, Enamel accents, buttons and rub ons. BELLA- journal spots. A. CRAFTS patterned paper. CAROLEE'S ADORN IT alphas. HEIDI SWAPP- plastic alphabet. Hand stitching and staples.

I remembered my Ranger, enamel accents I have had in my stash for quite awhile, and have never really given them much attention. I was just looking for some subtle little accents to compliment my page, and the white enamel dots worked perfectly.

My next post will show you how to make your own coloured pearl accents using this great liquid!!!

Playing along with Jot Magazine!!

Mood Board 10- Jot Magazine challenge
Ok, so I discovered this cool online magazine a little while ago, probably via Instagram or Pinterest!! Have been keeping my eye on it, it's fabulous and run by the talented Kim Archer! We moved house again!!!! at the weekend and I was feeling like some much needed Scrap therapy. The mood board challenge was perfect, and totally outside my comfort zone using green???? My daughter performed with her school in THE BEAT, at the Darwin Entertainment Centre recently, and I was disappointed to find out I couldn't take any pics inside. I was so glad when I found some selfies on her Ipad, she took before each performance! She danced when she was very young and has had a few years off, she looked so gorgeous and graceful on the stage, and so grown up, (10 yrs now), I had to record the memory.
So here's the mood board:
 http://files.jotmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/SMALLJOTMOODBOARDTEMPLATERED.jpg

And here's my take on the sketch:

I really love the way it turned out, especially the bright pop of yellow with the Heidi Swapp colour pop papers. I also used these products:
Kaiser base coat paper, pearls and blooms
American Crafts papers , Dear Lizzy brads & Amy Tangerine die cuts & alpha stickers
Simple Stories PL cards
Kaszazz_ oatmeal cardstock & gesso, Ezy press and lace border die
Prima alphas
Heidi Swapp Buzz words
I saw a hint on Pinterest recently using white paint or gesso and a pencil with an eraser on  the end to paint dots, so that is what I did on my oatmeal banners!!

TFL, and thanks for a great challenge Jot girls!!!!

Journal cover

I love decorating a new book or journal cover. I got this 'THIS AND THAT' journal from a Stampin Up friend, and started with a raw chipboard cover. it had some lovely embossed hexagons which showed up lovely under some Gesso. I  punched a few shapes from cardstock, then let loose with some Dylusions and Heidi Swapp mists/ colour shine, washi tape, stamping and a few little extras, which put a smile on my dial. Will share the inside pages as I go!

Another card workshop from Kaszazz

Just finished making up this sample! Looks really pretty in real life and happy with the rose on the front. I'm not normally good with flowers, but this one was easy. AS usual I made do with the stamps I had, my fancy flourish stamp is in storage, so used elegant flourish instead.

love freebies!!!

Have had a really crafty weekend! Enjoyed playing with my new Free stamps from the Get Stamping magazine.
Below is a sneak peak at the latest workshop sample I,ve Made up from Kaszazz. Have not scrapped my Nanna before, found it too hard. But this beautiful photo of my grandparents together just had to be recorded. Along with the house where they lived and my Mum and my brother and I both grew up. Theres a little pic of my Mum and her brother in the corner. I'm not normally good making my own flowers so was great to follow the technique used with this workshop. There' some smooch accent ink on there and crackle accents on the alphas.

Day off and fun with mixed media..

My friend Pam who is also a Kaszazz consultant, and I spent a few hours today scrapping this Kaszazz mixed media project. The instructions were a little all over the place, but we got there in the end. I like our different takes. I took a few different twists and turns, but happy with the results. Learned how to split chipboard butterflies and got gesso everywhere. We are getting together tomorrow for some more scrappy fun.

Nothing like a scraplift....

To really get the inspiration and mojo flowing. I have so many ideas I would like to try and so many magazines sitting here with sticky notes. But this layout really caught my eye this week in Creating Keepsakes mag. The artist is Stacy Cohen. I just loved the bright colours and design!
I decided to adapt it to suit a single 12 x 12" layout and this is my take on the layout!
I used some Kaszazz papers, some Dear Lizzy papers from A. Crafts, and the blue scallops are misted and cut from some Heidi Swapp colour Magic papers. I used Picked Raspberry Distress ink for the dark pink cirlces and the dots around the circles are made with my BIC mark it pens! There's a range of hand made and bought flowers, including Prima, Kaszazz and some generic. I made the leaves using a stamp and some ink and Distress Markers. Re-coloured items with Dylusions ink and Heidi Swapp Colour Shine, and finished with some Distress Stickles.

Parisian love cards

Did a lovely Demo on the weekend and this project was one of my samples I took to show the ladies what they might make at a Kaszazz workshop. Love these cards which have some distress blended edges, stamping and silver embossing. I altered one of the designs to suit the stamps I had available.

Settling in!!!

Wow, time just flies on by and I haven't been here for awhile, due to moving house....yet again! Story of our lives, really, and I am pretty much over it. We are in limbo at the moment as we decide where life should take us next! Darwin has been lovely and I could set up permanently here, if it wasn't so darn expensive. We've sadly had to put our Port Douglas house on the market, after almost 19 years living in the most gorgeous tropical town in Australia, the realisation that we probably wont be going back has set in. When I saw the photos of our house ready for advertising, it really hit home. Something to scrap about when the time is right. So now, we are back in a caravan park with the kids, living in the camper trailer and annexe, surrounded by happy, friendly, travellers, and trying to keep up our working, schooling life, with loads of commuting in between, until we decide what to do next. Watch this space!!!
Don't worry, I still have a desk, laptop and plenty of scrapping supplies which I just couldn't live without! I've managed to create a few projects already and although feeling a little unorganised, I had one of these projects picked up by Scrapbooking Memories yesterday! It just goes to show, you can create in the smallest of spaces, thank goodness, it's keeping me sane. I managed to complete my Phototech article this month under these conditions, so must be doing ok!
Here are a few projects to share:
This is a Scrap Lift from Amy Tangerine! I love her style and her line of papers and accessories. This is very similar to a layout which is on the back of her paper stack. The pic is of myself and my parents on one of their visits to our home in Port for Melbourne Cup in 2011.
This is some of the Kaszazz new products. The clouds are made from the new rose making dies. When I first saw the dies, I was convinced they were clouds, so I just had to make something using them as clouds. The Eiffel Tower is also a new die, and the stamp and washi tape are from the new May release.
This was my project entry into the Kaszazz TTD challenge. I am so into the paint splats at the moment. These were made with Distress stains, and you can see the pink chevron impression, which is made with the new stencil and distress stains. All Kaszazz products.
This is to share with a fellow Kaszazz member who is into art journaling at the moment. I love art journaling also. This was one of my entries while we were travelling last year and had limited supplies. I used water colour pencils and stamps for the background, along with rub ons and some cute little plastic embellies I cut from a packet from a new pillow. I have some new entries which I am still working on! TFL

Scrapbook Boutique Blog challenge

I needed to make a Baby card, and needed the inspiration to go with it!!! just loved this pic in this month's challenge over at Scrapbook boutique http://scrapbookboutiquenews.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/a-new-challenge-has-started.html
Here is the image they gave us for inspiration:

And here is my card:
I have used  Kaszazz daisy stamps for the background, and painted Smooch accent ink for the yellow centres and then used a water brush to disperse the ink. The sentiment stamp is from Kaszazz. The scraps of ribbon were laying around my desk and I stamped white butterflies on pink card, and used a scallop border punch for the card under the ribbon.
